G2010...how’s the season going 2019?

I wish I could post but all I can do is describe the 1st half. Eagles strategy was to get the ball from back and kick it over the midfield to find their strikers with not much success in the process. If they tried to go through the middle they ain’t getting past my DD. Ole builds out the back with much more ball movement and success coming from the starters. Created more shots at goal that way and our starting striker Bo Jackson unluckily missed 2 clear opportunities to score with wide open runs and shot against the goalie. Could have been a 2-1 or 3-1 by half time. Eagles make a great play ending the half and manage to get past our cb and score from a mistake. Kudos to the Eagles for that play.
However credit to the Eagles for their defense always solid throughout the game. Also solid was their goalie as always. As well as Ole solid defense, Ole starters stopped them and outplayed them the first half. Second half, 3 starters get replaced by 3 subs. Eagles force them to make mistakes coming out the back as they attempted passes to build from the back and lose the ball in the process. Eagles quick frontline reacts quick and capitalize on the mistakes. Go down 2-1 and later 3-1 with similar mistakes building from the back.
By now Eagles energy is high this built their confidence back and Ole struggled more
Second half with being confused on how to get out the back with ball movement. Our goalie second half played phenomenal. Both teams had shot opportunities second half but Eagles had a few more. Overall Eagles soccer is simple. Skip the midfield and find the fast strikers in the front. Their front line does seem to move the ball better than their back line and can make good choices in the process. They are fast and quick to react. Great team. But starting 6 players on field with the exception of the goalie pound for pound advantage Ole. Eagles have 1 sub. We have 3.

Just interesting to hear blues is the top but again season results. Blues beat SDSC both times. SDSC best legends both times. Legends beat blues both times. So I’d say if blues is the top team and legends beat them both times legends should be in consideration. That’s just a fact. N

Where are the titles for this team? How many big tournaments has Legends won? Blues may have lost a couple games to Legends from like I’ve mentioned matchups. But Blues can walk their talk. Can’t say the same for you guys. Blues have beaten the Eagles and SDSC and you guys before. Maybe your coach has found a way to beat the Blues by creating certain matchups but that’s just one team you guys have found a way to beat. Go beat the Eagles and SDSC and then you may compare yourselves to the Blues.
As of now you don’t even appear on the rankings. Nonetheless even got a big title under your belt. Walk your talk before you talk.
Tier 2 for now til you can beat the top 3 teams and win a big title.

Legends right up there as well, 3rd I think.
Then I think Surf headed up that second tier with recent wins over Galaxy and Slammers PA, and they stood toe to toe with Legends, game could have went either way.

Lol. I love that you think these teams and coaches have a strategy. Outside of trying to recruit the best kids, that's as far as the game plan goes.

Let’s be civil guys. You do realize that these are children that are being debated. Eventually they grow up and either continue to develop or stop playing. Enjoy them while they’re still young.
As Luis mentioned, some of the variance we see is how certain teams match up. Players in certain positions and style of play. Teams also have good games and bad sometimes. Stuff happens, so where a team stands is not always clear cut and obvious.
That said, Legends will likely face Eagles in the Silverlakes Thanksgiving final so that should offer another data point.

I don’t think the big 3 teams are in a decline. The other teams are getting better And continue to improve weekly. Slammers PA, OC Surf, OC Galaxy, Legends, Albion, Surf SD, Olw. This is what made The season great. Congrats to all your DDs and can’t wait for next tournaments.

Great post and i agree. Those 3 teams are the cream of the crop at this age group. Looking for a T2 take the leap. Great season and good luck to all the girls and teams.
Fair enough. But when you have someone trolling coming in here talking down on all the rest of the top teams, making claims that they are in decline etc. saying things like they will lose their players etc It’s a bit disrespectful as well from them. I’m just trying to be fair and give credit where it’s due. No need to come in here and take shots at the Blues or SDSC. They deserve all the respect for what they have accomplished. Just not right. They are kids too and don’t deserve to be talked down upon either like that. I never said Legends is a bad team either. I give them the credit they deserve for what they’ve done. I still acknowledge them as a top 5 team and that they are up and coming.
Let’s be fair and say that yes they are successful at the young age group because they recruit top athletes but to say they don’t have a strategy or don’t know soccer is unfair as well. Like I mentioned, I personally think Tim Kelly is a great coach, he knows how to move his players around and his players understand the direction he gives them on the sideline and are able to execute the plan of attack. That’s soccer IQ at the age level. Wether they don’t practice possession soccer or like to play out the back is a style of English soccer they have adopted to use. And in the olders they don’t have a big enough talent pool as the teams down south do and they lose players to Real So Cal. Which by the way have now fallen under my shit list.
After hearing what one of their coaches said about me to our coach and things discussed on this thread. Really gave me a bad taste towards that club now. I told our coach the honest truth and to come here and read what I say. Got nothing to hide. I’m honest to say I don’t agree with his game plan all the time during games but I can’t say that he hasn’t developed our players or done a great job with their progress. But the fact this real SoCal coach did that to me after they scouted my DD and wanted to recruit her next year for their so called 2010 super team. I got news for them. It ain’t gonna happen. She ain’t coming next year to their 2010 super team. I will make sure the other top players won’t go either. So if they are lurking here like @Dominic says they do. Pass the news...

TK is highly overrated. Has good little teams for the first year and a half because he gets strong players who win tournaments on talent and by the end of the second season they’re running out the door looking for new clubs or coaches.
