Most coaches, and certainly those in the Blues' organization, have an idea about players' abilities and are not just succumbing to "politics." BTW, politics are in every walk of life and quite evident on this website.

Secondly, one of the under-aged girls is rostered to an age-relevant team within the club. The other has been in the club for many years and most certainly has the qualifications and the connections to be on any of a number of teams, should that be the choice of her family.

Nope she's 06. And yes she's phenomenal and plays at TFA now.

1. I am not Coach Bobak. He probably would have presented a more eloquent rebuttal to you than did I.
2. If you state you are not an ECNL expert, who is there to argue otherwise?
3. For someone not affiliated with the Blues, you seemingly have an axe to grind with them. I don't have a player on their teams, but it is hard to argue with the Blues' overall track record at every level of competition, covering many years of individual and team success. What is to be gained by taking cheap shots?

I've never heard of TFA. I will say though that the players that were the top players at 10 in my daughter's age group are not the top players now. The biggest predictor of future success that I saw was a burning drive to get better. Several of the top players including my player were "B" team players at U10/11.

She is probably a fantastic player but what constitutes a next level player at 10 is pretty different than at 18.

You are an 05 Blues parent probably on Draluck
If not you should be employed as a marketing person for them as you defend and fact check on anyone who questions anything.
No one is attacking the Blues. We will see how you feel in a dual banded DA if your younger doesn't get playing time. 03 parents have a right to question this at their clubs because guess what is happening at least five I know of to question the benefit of an 05 or 04 on an 03 team. You are saying to not only the 20 ecnl girls but also the 20 girls in a b team "hey we don't think you are good enough" at the 03 level. Are we really expected to believe that all these clubs have these oh so special 04 and 05 that take a spot?

You don't read any better than you write. First, I already indicated I'm not a Blues' parent.

Next, I do try to get my facts straight before posting, something that most do, but a few don't. If that bothers you, too bad.

Finally, I am not defending a decision as to whether someone should or should not be on a roster. Those are coaching decisions, and all parents for that particular team can have some discussion with the coach if it bothers them. What I don't like is when outsiders weigh in with their innuendos before getting the facts. On this very thread there are several posters who have been raving about another '05 girl, extremely talented, apparently, who has made quite an impression playing for '02 and '03 Blues' teams this summer, so spare us your jaded opinion that some of the other youngers aren't worthy of a roster spot. If they aren't, it will play out on the field.

For someone who isn't a Blues parent you spend a lot of time on the 05 forum talking about the Blues and their roster. I would only be logical to think you may be the 05 who is dual rosetered. Way to back pedal buddy.
You are right what was I thinking? Of course everyone on an 03 can approach the coach and mention how it looks to a group of girls, or parents, or loyalty. I am sure everyone will feel very secure that their daughter wouldn't be affected.
We do agree on one point it doesn't matter in the long run when players do the work and make the name for themselves. The process is highly questionable and when entering a DA system especially.
If you are a reasonable person though you should be able to see how that type of arrangement with a excellent 05 or 04 (not the superstar referred to on this thread) would be questionable? Is it ok for he youngers to use this as a way to intimidate coaches into keeping them at a club?

Somehow, I knew you'd be back. You were the one who posted a glowing report of Coach Dido last season when your DD was on the '04-05 team. You are also the one who has recently pulled up roots from the Blues and moved south on the I-5 to SD Surf. I'm sure you had your reasons, no need to share. Consumer (parent/player) preferences, coaching decisions, logistics, and even finances all can be contributing factors to roster changes. Again, have no interest in knowing which, if any, of these apply. Several clubs work out arrangements for players they want to recruit or retain, just as many businesses work out arrangements to recruit or retain key customers. Nothing new under the sun here. Are you carrying the resentment bag for yourself, or did you just decide to be the "devil's advocate" for friends and acquaintances in your soccer world who feel miffed?

One of the cardinal rules for this website is that no one is supposed to attack the kids. If you are upset about a decision made by a coach or club (this isn't just about the Blues, though you seem hell-bent on making it so,) take it up with the principals directly. A final thought--you might want to contact the Blues' website coordinator and have him/her remove your DD's picture from the club gallery, since she is now playing elsewhere. We're through.

That's Incredible,

I'm sorry but that was actually our family who left Blues for Surf about a month ago. We live in Encinitas have 4 kids and the drive was to much for our family. I would suggest knowing for sure who you are bringing into this type of ridiculous rant before insinuating who it is. Along with Goaldigger.
And yes, my old name on the forum was Goaldigger9 but is no longer. I did say very nice things about our old coach but he is not the reason we left. Hope you 2 are happy with this ridiculous behavior.
 
So wait, are any of y'all even 03's? (Referring to the last few posts)

As for info, I can say that the Heat 03 ECNL is very much "rebuilding" this year, but definitely has some talent. Del Sol was the stronger arizona 03 and 04 team last year, but unsure of what that will mean for our matches. We will find out this weekend! My DD was at DPL this past weekend, so we are looking forward to her first ECNL games.

As Make a play said (before the old board was deleted), this first year of ECNL will be a year of growing pains. So when I see Blues currently at the "bottom" it doesn't mean much. All of the teams have only had 2 games...Lets see what happens for us all.

Before Bababooey found a great home for his dd at OC Strikers, we would have guessed that he would have given his left nut to have her at Blues. He has always said a lot of good things about them. When you try to regulate everything that is said on the forums, it's easy to lose your way. Assuming way too much about a lot of people here and way too defensive. doubt Blues coaches care what any of us say around here.
