The superintendent certainly comes across like a crazy softball mom. Pretty surprising that the board didn't settle this before it became public; it sure seems like the plaintiff has the school dead to rights.
If true, that's terrible of the Superintendent. The coach said it was true in the video below.

The daughter got the best pitcher award as a Junior, but not enough applause from her teammates (according to Super Mom) so the other Junior pitcher must have done something wrong.
Edit: I have since learned that the award was for Most Valuable Player.

I had to look this one up after my wife prompted me. Early on when Super Mom was in office, she arranged a secret tour of some Poway schools by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. The reasoning claimed for the secrecy was for "security reasons".

Not so final, on further thought -- there is still the lawsuit pending against the District and the former Superintendent.
I lived in that district for over 40 years (1976-2020, in three different residences). All 3 of our children attended public schools there from K to 12; all 3 participated in Varsity sports there (thank goodness never softball). Since I first became aware of the District in 1976, they have fired 3 Supers for various issues (sexual harassment, financial misconduct, and now this) and one died mysteriously after a short illness. I worked with one of the Board members for a few years while she was Registrar for the Poway Youth Soccer League and I was on the Board in various offices. I am tempted to email her for some deep background on this but since there is still litigation ongoing I don't think she will even be able to say hello.
