Surf Cup – 04s (8/6 – 8/8) – Tech Specs

Arsenal 1 -1 Force

Boy this was a heavy weight Match up

Force # 1 team out of CAN (Cal North) looked shell shocked at the speed and physicality of Arsenal for the first 10-15 min. Arsenal had some golden opportunities but failed to convert.

Once Force settled down they started their attack with nice possession ball, switching fields and precise passing - getting Arsenal players out of position finally converting on a goal with a beautiful textbook cross.

The whole game was a back and forth display of two different styles - Arsenal was able to get some runs in finally converting on a breakaway and cross for the tie.

Towards the end Both teams had big plays in particular sime great saves by the Arsenal Goalie and lock down D by the Force Back line.

Both teams competed hard, it was a fun game to watch!

Having played both teams I would say that MVLA is the best team in Nor Cal. Both are excellent but I think the strength up the middle for MVLA gives them the edge.

Slammers tie Placer 0-0. Tale of two half's...Placer had the run of play first half and Slammers the second. Slammers vs Beach tmorrow for the pool.
Watched a few of the MVLA games and they are the real deal. They play the best soccer I have seen. Very composed with the ball and great to watch.

LAGSD 1, MVLA 1. Best team we have played all year.
Great game to watch and both teams walked away saying the same thing that we could have won 3 or 4-1 if we converted our chances. MVLA is legit and a great team. LAGSD goalie stood on her head and I continue to be impressed by her especially knowing this is her first year to play soccer and not just club. Today was her first games since Manchester Cup due to softball, crazy talented girl. Tomorrow should be fun again especially considering there are so many teams that have the chance to move on and it is anybody's tournament. Good luck to all!

Not even close. MVLA is first in class. Galaxy SD just doing what they do best. Lock down defense and finding a opening to knock one in. Group of death living up to all the smack talk. Thanks Som!

Consider if you are MVLA playing their 1:20 game today you are up 3 (or more) - 0 in the last few minutes. You get to play the Slammers at 4:00 if it ends that way. If you give up a goal, you get to play the Group E winner at 5:30. What do you do?

What would be the more favorable match up?
