How long to wait for coach to contact us after coach meets w/ admissions?

Hi all, my son has several schools who are taking him to admissions this week. What is a reasonable amt of time for the coach to then contact us after talking w/ admissions? Most of the schools are high academic schools. Also, any input on what the tea leaves mean - if anything - if a school is taking more than a day to get in touch?

Some school's admissions departments do a pre-read in a few days, while others can take a few weeks. Plus, many schools will communicate a positive pre-read, but it won't immediately come with an offer since they get more pre-reads than they have offers to give. The time between the first call and the second can tell whether the coach really wants your kid or whether your kid is the backup in case the first choice goes elsewhere.

Couple weeks but always good to have your player communicate and follow up.

Communication between the coaching staff, coordinators and your player is also going to be a key factor for their years at the University.

There should be a very strong connection and enthusiasm between coaches and player. If it's lukewarm look elsewhere.

Student athletes make a lot of sacrifices and put in a lot of work in short time frames so academics can be very challenging during the fall with more time in the spring.

Good luck and really helps if your player already knows some existed ones at a given University or maybe is friends with fellow recruits.
