G2010...how’s the season going 2019?

I figured it went the Blues way again. Bummer :( Take a break today from the forum if you must. Goliath won many battles before David knocked him out and cut his head off. Regroup and better luck next time :)

yup. All I can be responsible for is my own daughter's performance and knowing she played her game and did her job. Unfortunately that's all I can say about the game...

This game is a wrap. Congratulate SC Blues for their strong performance. I'll just say the game started with an early penalty after a few min in favor of Blues. Made a few girls choke. It's a wrap. Aside from that I'm not saying anything else, downhill from there. My DD did her job that's all i can say
Bummer!! What was the score?

You’re missing my point, Surf isn’t developing, they are picking the athletic players trained by clubs who put in the work. Eventually, they’ve collected the players and Alas your almighty DA teams. Their select team has good players from different clubs, but can’t put it together to win, why is that?
Agree! They don’t have the patience to develop the kids. I was told if your kid is being recruited by another team, ask yourself... 1. Why couldn’t they win with the kids they have? If all things were equal and 2. What’s going to happen to the kids that were there before? Are they getting cut or dropped to a lower level team because that could be your kid if they don’t develop at the pace the club wants them to.

No need for a second place medal anyways I would throw it straight to the trash. Can’t believe they handing them out
I agree. Leave that place at once and go eat tacos is what my dd always wanted to do. Sit there waiting for all the introductions on how proud the coaches are of the girls. Only one team should be at the celebration and that is the champs!!!

Plenty of parents I know from the olders down to the youngers gripe about their experience w/Surf. Some wise up and leave or get cut. Either way, I’d head to Albion/LAGSD before I give them my dollars.

I guess there is only so much one can do with a given talent on a team. I know development is important but recruiting top athletes plays a major role especially in girls soccer. Gotta be proud for what we’ve done with what we have to work with. Certain girls are not gonna get any faster or more athletic and therefore will always get beat in the process by the top athletes. Blues are stacked up and down with athletes. On a side note it was surprising to hear what Rennie said on his speech. That our girls should be playing better with the style of soccer when they get a little older. Didn’t expect that. Basically saying they are doing the right things as far as the way they are learning how to play the game. Looking forward to having her play top level soccer on a top level talent roster where my DD will be surrounded by similar athletes in the next couple years.

Any one get to you in the parking lot bro?

Out of there faster than one can imagine. Plus I figured it’s San Diego what would any of the teams out there want my goat when we live so far away. Next season I will be out there more and making myself available to them. Already in contact with a few local ones but just a few follow up phone calls and me telling them I’ll will be in contact when time is right to leave team. We are staying with Ole for next season.

Wow! Way to be a sore loser. Probably not the best message to teach your kids. Nothing wrong with 2nd place. Means the girls worked hard and made it all the way to the championship. Maybe give them some credit...they’re freaking 9 years old.

Nice to have that Porsche to drive home in to I bet. I hope you guys recruit locally and build Ole into a powerhouse.

Did anyone actually see the surf vs Blues game. @Sockers858 just curious to know if Blues put their best lime up against them. I’m perplexed on how we easily went through surf and had a much harder time with Blues. And the fact that Surf is able to compete much better against them. They must be doing something we weren’t as I don’t think Surf has near the defense we do. The ease in which our strikers scored on them leads me to this conclusion. Weird. Or could it be more of a mental thing for some of our girls. Not sure. Really I was expecting a much tighter game against Surf and better competition against Blues

The Blues were the best GU9 in SoCal when my DD was playing against them in 2005, and 14 years later they are still at the top. They will add 1 or 2 impact players next season and just get stronger.

The Blues are a great organization.

No doubt they know how to recruit the right players to make their direct ball system work. Some of the best European teams play this way and have the right type of players to make the system work. Unfortunately its a style of soccer that requires physically strong & fast athletes that poses the discipline and technical ability to get the job done. The perfect example of the best and most efficient form of direct ball soccer is Germany.

German Soccer Style
If ever there was a team that took on the characteristics of its country, it would be Germany. Efficient and highly organized, the Germans play a disciplined, hard-working style that sees them become contenders in almost every international tournament they take part in.

Making use of the considerable physical stature of the players, German soccer often relies on raw physicality. Crosses are often swung in to tall target-men, who can gain aerial control using their height, or use their stature to hold off opponents.

The team is disciplined which is to say, each player has a specific role and adheres to this role strictly. Players are rarely out of position, with ranks within formations almost always rigidly kept. Improvisation is rarely seen, with direct attacks at goal the usual method of going forward. The style is not particularly attractive, but the fact that it is brutally effective cannot be denied.

The Germans play the counter attack game to absolute perfection. With strength at every position, the German’s were able to soak up pressure from opposing teams and counter-attack quickly with fast, highly skilled players leading the charge. And finishing.

Oh how they finished. Early and often, the German's put on quite the display of attacking soccer.

There's a reason why a German is at the top of scoring at almost every tournament.....
