One of the things I wondered about the new Sports Arena being built in the Midway Rising development in San Diego is whether the Sockers will lose their home for a couple of years while the new place is being built. As it turns out, they shouldn't. The new facility will be placed on the eastern end of the property where the Dixieline and Salvation Army stores are now. The Sports arena site will eventually be turned into high-density housing with mixed commercial spaces.
