Game of the Week

BRONZE
AC BREA B07 GREEN vs. SPARTANS FC PUMAS USA

This will be a great rematch for two teams that battled it out in their first ever meeting. AC Brea came out strong with a 2-0 lead in the 1st half, but Pumas countered in the 2nd half scoring 2 of their own with Brea putting in 1 last goal to seal the victory.

Prior to the last match, the Pumas came off a draw vs TFA and weren't playing their best soccer at the time. Since then the Pumas have come together, playing as a strong team and have been on their A game. Pumas have been crushing opponents and with their recent victory over a tough TFA opponent has definitely given them the confidence walking into this rematch.

AC Brea started the season strong by capturing a victory over Pumas and TFA, but as of late seemed to have dropped their game a bit. In a recent game vs a solid Fullerton Rangers team, they struggled to put goals in and even with a 3-0 lead. Rangers came back strong giving AC Brea a scare, but ultimately AC Brea walked away with a 3-2 victory. AC Brea left that and all previous games in the past and have been preparing for the task at hand on Saturday. AC Brea have been working hard with longer practices and a recent scrimmage against a strong Boys 2006 team in hope to find their groove again.

These are familiar foes on each end of the field and looking forward to seeing a terrific match. AC Brea Green and FC Pumas are two of the strongest Boys 2007 teams in their perspective bracket and its looking to be another nail biter.

Best of luck to both teams!

Would love to see this game! Definitely 2 of the top teams in all of socal. Keep us posted on gameplay and final score. Good luck!

AC Brea Green suffered its first loss of the season. As expected a very physical and hard fought match. It was a defensive battle on both sides, where each team had maximum of 5 shots.

The only goal given was due to a mistake on Brea where a pass back to the goalie caused an own goal. The score could have easily been 2-0 for Pumas, but the Brea goalie blocked a PK, keeping them in the game. Not taking anything from Pumas and hats off to the Pumas players , lasting the entire match without any subs.

There is much respect on both clubs where a great rivalry seems to have started. Looking forward to League Cup where a 3rd rematch is certain.

Sounds like it was a great match! Congrats on your win. There is now no undefeated B2007 teams in SEN/SES.

1vs2 played in SEN and SES (based on points) with different outcomes... One was close and a upset and the other not so much.
