Worth Visiting Vegas now?

You do realize has some of the best air conditioners and filters in the world. Levels of everything are controlled.
Vegas also has a high density of generational living and senior care facilities that have had effects on the huge spikes. Also, our positive rates are not consistent because if a strip employee tests positive he or she must test three times negative before he or she can return to work. Each of the three tests that come back positive count toward that daily total *i.e.* double counted.

How good is the output air of "the best air conditioners and filters in the world" when compared to air not contaminated by an unknown, but certainly not insignificant, number of covid carriers?

It isn't circulating air that is why a person in the front row of a plane will not get infected from a person in the back row of a plane.

According to the studies of the European Aviation Safety Agency the air in the aircraft is changed every 2-3 minutes and the filters it goes through are able to eliminate even C19.
But then again we only trust Europeans when it comes to soccer (j/k). Remember Casino's can change the air in a casino at anytime. If you have ever seen the engineering behind the newer casinos you would be amazed. It is the people not wearing a mask or coming to vegas irresponsibly that you need to be concerned about. Not the air in a casino.

I have no doubt modern casino design is pretty interesting. If anyone can afford better filters it is casinos.

But that doesn't mean it makes sense to put my lungs in the same airspace as 500 other people. Office buildings have exactly the same problem.
I wouldn't go into either right now.

Maybe the problem is the 10% of people who think the mask is a chin strap. Or the 3% who refuse to skip their Vegas trip when all they have is a cold.

Still makes it a higher risk.

There is quite a lot of research that is centered around overall viral load as to how much it hits you-- picking it up by walking through a cloud of droplets in a grocery store, for example, may be less intense of symptoms than catching it in an office sitting next to an infected person for hours on end.

With that in mind, the thought of standing at a craps table with 8+ people for presumably a couple of hours isn't the greatest idea, imo. Yes the casinos can change the air and get good ventilation, but the overall viral load has to be higher at a couple hours at a craps table than it is, say, for 30 mins outside.

I've been twice since the end of June. Casinos are very clean. They are strictly enforcing the mask rule. Every other slot machine is closed down,so you aren't sitting next to anyone. Plastic barriers at all tables. Crowds are small. Bars are closed, but lounges are open. Had a great time both times.

But they are all wearing masks so everyone is safe.....

Yes but the comment was about air. If you come be safe. If you are sick stay home. for the record the line leaving Vegas was on the north side of Jean this weekend as we returned from CA. Also your beaches are packed. We had to find a place to hike in to be safe at the beach.

All those damn people from NV filling up our beaches! ;)

I just returned from SoCal on Sunday (spent the weekend at Camp Pendleton) and the traffic leaving Nevada at the state line in Primm looked like pre-Covid traffic.
