Worth Visiting Vegas now?

I was thinking about going to Vegas for a few days to drink, gamble, and eat. Should I wait? Is there really good deals?

My buddy played two weeks ago at one the nice Casinos and played 6 player poker. They had plastic shields like Stater Bros for each player. He had fun until he got chased out by two lucky drunk poker posers who hardly play and got lucky that round. My buddy said each pot was over $1,000 and they both got luck luck on the Turn and da River. Total chasers he said and why he had the worse drive home after the beat down.

Depends on how much you like to gamble.

If you are at a table with 10 people, Georgia Tech puts the odds at 44% that one of them currently has covid. 95% that one of the 50 people nearest you has covid. And you are all sharing the same air conditioning.

I looked at it for tournaments, and decided it wasn’t worth it.

@Dominic, here is the layout. Dad of 4 has no clue what he's talking about. 10 people my ass....lol!!! I almost went Pro Poker player back in 2005. I lived in San Clemente and drove down to Oceans 11 all the time. I moved to Temecula to be closer to Pachenga to be honest and work on my game. My Saturday was like this before my goat played soccer. Surf in the morning, grab a breakfast burrito and then head to Oceanside and play all day. I played reckless out of towner dude for the first month until all the locals figured me out. I then acted like I didnt care and then whet all in when it really mattered and I usually cleaned house. My Buddy Colin is way better player. He looks at odds and position only. I go with my gut and that's why I'm no pro.

I think it's a good time. I went to a strip casino for dinner Sunday and there were a good amount of people out and about but not at pre Covid levels. Restaurants have tables spread out and everyone wears masks. I did not go into the casino (Hell's Kitchen is just outside of Caesar's) so I don't know how it looks in there. Not sure of deals but my nephew flew out here a few weeks ago and said he got a good deal at Red Rock Casino off the strip.

Looks great. Very nicely polished. Plenty of room at the table.

And yet, somehow, Vegas has the highest infection rate in Nevada.

Keep safe y’all.

I was in Mesquite two weeks ago for a softball tournament. While nothing like Vegas I felt totally fine. It was at a very low occupancy. They do not have live poker at any of the casinos (really the only game I like to play) so so I played craps and video poker. The craps table was only 6 people and masks were mandatory everywhere. Dealers cleaned the dice before every new shooter.

Is that the only table that has the shield? Looks like the others don't. So not many people playing poker?

Also the largest population density.....
Sure. And the largest airport and the largest AC systems with the most people breathing each other's air.

A nice place to be if you are a respiratory virus.

This is why, per capita, Vegas has the highest covid rates in NV.

Take at look at Vegas in the map keepermom2 sent you. Vegas is bright red.

Is that with or without masks?

I’m a huge fan of poker but I will not step into a casino for a long time. Online poker is fun for 1 hour only. I can’t wait til it’s safe to go back to play. I would play once every other week at the local card rooms. I’m definitely saving money now. Lol.

That was before they opened. Showing the players how the games would be set up. Looks safe to me. It was good action for my friend and he's going back. i like 9 or 10 at a table so I can win more.

You do realize has some of the best air conditioners and filters in the world. Levels of everything are controlled.
Vegas also has a high density of generational living and senior care facilities that have had effects on the huge spikes. Also, our positive rates are not consistent because if a strip employee tests positive he or she must test three times negative before he or she can return to work. Each of the three tests that come back positive count toward that daily total *i.e.* double counted.
