State Cup Bracketing - Way to early to care

Was poking around the Cal-South website today (not a fan of the redesign BTW).
They don't have any dates posted yet, but it looks like they made an update to the various levels of State Cup and the various levels of league play.

I think the most interesting thing to see this year will be how DPL teams match up.

(Another interesting thing is that they list 2007 age group as playing 9v9. Wonder if that's an oversight or if they want 07 teams playing 9v9 for state/national competitions)

This is last year's grid. When they update it 2011 will be added and 2000 will drop off, and appropriate roster size changes will show (all the birth years will shift to the right).

Might be last year’s grid- but I don’t think they had DPL listed last year. Nor all of the various scdsl flight 1 options. (I could be wrong)

They had the SCDSL flight 1 options last year. The difference is that they've moved Champions and Europa younger this year.

On the boys side, you have very few SCDSL teams winning State Cup or National Cup at any age or level. If this is the chart for this year, no flight III team from SCDSL will beat a Silver team from CSL in the 2005-2007 age groups. Cal South is literally pairing bottom 1/3 teams from SCDSL against top 1/2 to top 1/3 teams from CSL. They are setting SCDSL up for failure again. Look at the 2019 results for boys at all levels of State Cup and National Cup at all age levels and you will see only a few (if any) SCDSL champions and mostly CSL teams as the champions.

They list Flight 3 for SCDSL in older age groups. Due to the increase of 3 levels of Flight 1, there is no longer Flight 3 in the 2004 and above age groups.

My son's very average 2005 Silvers handily beat the two Flight 3 teams they played opening weekend; played the other Silver team even.
