Questions SCDSL (SOCAL 21/22)

Sorry, I've been living under a rock for a while.
  1. Will there be promotion for for the 21/22 season? Meaning, teams playing now in spring that are the top 2 or whatever of their flight brackets, will they be able to play in the nest flight up?
  2. Since SOCAL is not part of CalSouth now, what's the deal with State Cup? do they have a similar thing or post-season tournaments or whatnot? Any NPL league where the top teams can continue playing? Or nothing this year?
Thanks!

SoCal will have a separate State Cup competition, teams will be seeded for state cup off of Pool play games that are played in the fall. US Club National Cup Series or NPL Nationals follow state Cup.

They will not be doing this format this spring though. State cup this spring will be through Cal South.

Most of that information is found on pages 14-16 of that linked document.

How will So Cal handle the flight 1 levels and Discovery for the 2009 age group? Assuming a lot of the current flight 1 teams for the spring season move to ECNL or ECRL. Will teams be able to choose which league they want for the first year?

There's also not enough 09 talent to really fill up ECNL, ECRL, Flight 1 Discovery.

Up to the clubs to determine which teams may be assigned to the different league offerings.

Some may only have 2 teams per age group while others have 3-5. ECNL normally the 1st team and depending on demand and club priorities 2nd-5th teams could be ECRL, SoCal Npl (discovery), other NPL's (West, SW, etc) or other leagues. You're mileage may vary.

Who said there will be multiple flight 1 levels (including Discovery) for 09s?
Thanks

After reading a little closer... page 17 says that Discovery for 21/22 will be open to any team a DOC believes should play in that division and league play will determine who drops to the champions division in 22/23.

That doesn't necessarily mean they will get into if over subscribed. When that happens their committee debates or votes on which teams get in.

With north and south divisions of 13-16 teams each there is some room for a decient number overall.
