College Exposure for HS Freshman

The best players at college ID camps will be HS seniors or juniors who are starting on HS teams or club teams of their age group. If your player is not playing at a comparable level, he will just be ignored after the first few minutes.
It might be no more than a good learning experience.
Highly attended tournaments like Surf, Dallas, Jefferson Cup, etc
Postseason play or showcases on national platforms like MLSnext, ECNL, NPL, etc. CIF High school postseason
Highlight reel video is always important to have so you can share that with perspective schools and coaches.
ID camp would be down on the priority list and really only after your player has had individual personalized contact or interest from some of those colleges.
One of the best sources should be players current club or HS coaches, they should have contacts and work with the college coordinators.
Remember communications and keeping up with the coaches is going to be the key. Your players going to have to go to them they're not going to go to your player

We were told "It's against NCAA rules to have an on-campus tryout, but our ID camp is next month" (not a "tryout" because it was open to everyone). The investment was worth it.
