Are Nevada tournaments in Danger?

Sounds like there has been a 14 day stay at home recommendation in Nevada. Does this jeopardize any upcoming tournaments?

I think there is cause for concern. While this was just a recommendation and not a mandate, if numbers continue to rise another lock down could happen in two weeks. IMHO

Just noticed for the Las Vegas Thanksgiving Classic coaches and managers have to take Covid tests and upload results before going. don't know if any other tournaments are requesting this as well.

And spectators, for Mayor’s cup. It would be nice if they require testing of players, too. We’ll be getting one.

At this time the Majors Cup on Dec 5 does Not require spectators to be tested .

On their website they have an extensive list of Covid rules and restrictions including
:

As stated by Dirtnap , coaches and managers must be tested and documentation sent to the Majors cup before Dec 2.

Screenings in the form of a questionnaire and a temperature test must be completed and documented by the Teams Covid Safety Officer ( who must be a a " registered club or team employee, officer, coach or team manager " ) before every game for coaches , managers , players and Spectators.

Each field is limited to 100 people including coaches , managers , players , refs and all spectators. Note : state max is 250 people per field.

Players , coaches , Covid Safety Officer , Parents and Spectators all have detailed lists of what their responsibilities , duties and restrictions are .

These are just some of the highlights .

The Major's Cup had to get their Corvid Safety plan approved by city and county health officials.

Thanks.

I doubt they will have the Mayor's cup. Thanksgiving Classic 50/50. I heard from a football coach out there they are closely monitoring for the next 2 weeks and if things aren't better the shutdown will happen Monday after Thanksgiving.:( Let's hope I'm wrong.

This message just rolled in from the Mayor's Cup folks -

Hello Coaches and Managers:
Please share this email with your families.
We have been getting a lot of inquiries regarding the Mayor's Cup and whether we are cancelling the tournament. We are aware of the media stories of the increased spread of COVID19 and measures certain states have done to try and control it.
The Governor of Nevada has already approved our plan. Our Preparedness and Safety plan was also approved by the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, in conjunction with local Health Departments. We have the most thoughtful and stringent of safety protocols, including mandatory tests for coaches and managers, limited spectators with required social distancing, mandatory masks, and cleaning and sanitizing rules for an outdoor event. We have no reason to believe that the tournament will be canceled.
Details of the approved plan are posted here: https://lvmayorscup.com/covid19/
There has been considerable time, energy and resources committed to this event to make it safe and operate under the guidelines of the State of Nevada and the CDC. If for any reason this situation changes, we will contact everybody immediately.

Any news like this in regards to the LV Thanksgiving Classic?
They sent an email on Sunday that includes the schedule. It also said that they plan on holding the tournament, and an update would be sent in the next couple days. We are waiting for that message any day now.

Can anyone confirm that the casinos are being a bit lax on mask requirements? Coworker said his son went this past weekend and very few masks. Then again he said he son is at the age where he isn't really looking at these type of things.

We were there last month and casino (Aria) was anything but lax. Had people walking around reminding people who had pulled down their mask
To take a sip of a drink to immediately put mask back up. Didn’t see anyone without a mask.

OSHA is fining Casino's who are not following guidelines. All guidelines are within everything in NV. You do not want to wear a mask and not social distance on the sidewalk on the strip that is a bad call but there is no jurisdiction. The Cops can not say anything about personal choice. It is like the person leaving the grocery store and taking off their mask before they get to their car. Just more people on the strip and most are not from NV .

I’m more than fine not traveling outside of the state to play. I would rather keep renting 5 v 5 fields and playing locally. There’s plenty of illegal games on the weekends and nobody is getting in trouble.
Hi - where are you renting? I am trying to get some scrimmages for my G2004 and G2008 teams. Any help would be great!

Cops have other ER's to deal with so it's 100% ok to play. Keep it on the down low and please, do not share locations. I have a place that will be offering 6 x 6 half field soccer.
