Surf ENCL vs. Slammers Koge

one girl gets her hair pulled and then again. she reacts and ends up getting a red. the girl pulling hair should check herself!! not much else here to talk about

I think we want to believe that our leagues will be run with a certain amount of fairness and a set of rules that apply to everyone equally. Also a bit of logic, like don't schedule AZ games in September b/c you put kids at risk of heat-related injuries. You shouldn't be able to reschedule just because you don't like an early match-up. There's no way this got moved b/c of lack of fields; between Oceanside and Del Mar Surf has plenty of fields. More likely DOC 1 says we don't want to take a loss in our first game and DOC 2 says yeah neither do we so let's just move the games a month or so. My DD follows a few players on 1 of the teams and they were out on Saturday in uniform having a team bonding event, so that team certainly could have played.
Our league can’t even get a complete schedule out in the second week of play. Not much hope that “fairness” and scheduling is being done well.
who do we complain to anyway, pretty sure we pay a good chunk of change for the league.

Actually, my daughter plays on Beach ECNL. Her good friend is on Blues and shared the score from the weekend. I got the info on the slammers vs. rebels from a parent we know from the Rebels team. No bias here- seems like legit sources for this info. Supposedly there is video of what happened.
Not so sure that identifying yourself as a beach parent will absolve you of all bias.

Complain to your club and your club brings the issue to ECNL meetings. Member clubs decide if the issue is worth addressing. If it's worth addressing potential resolutions are defined and voted on.

The one thing I suggest ECNL address ASAP is that teams shouldn't be playing in AZ before mid October and after mid April. This is just a general safety issue. One kid dies because of heat stroke playing in AZ and Clubs and Leagues will get sued. Just setup some simple guidelines for when not to play in AZ and ECNL + teams can protect themselves.

GTFOH. Are you seriously claiming that ECNL and the clubs involved didn’t know about the music festival earlier? So are the parties involved inept, cheaters, or are they inept cheaters?
Based on the ECNL website organization and score update time and accuracy I find no reason to believe they are "on top of things" in general. Since clubs can change dates after the release, there is little motivation for ECNL to even care. Also, in the older age groups, many girls are taking official visits this fall with a "backlog" due to COVID. As several posters mentioned, as long as they play, does it really matter when?

That reminds me, I'll add two more things that DA did better than ECNL (the first one is days off between games in the playoffs and an added day off in the showcases). Their website was much better - easier to navigate, more accurate, more information (game scorecards, statistics, etc.), and they streamed playoff games. Wish they would have taken those few things DA did better and incorporated them into the "ECNL AD" (after DA). My apologies. I digress. What thread is this again? ;)

My dd came up to me this moorning and asked if her team has a chance at playoffs after her tough hard fought feels like 110 playing on turf game loss Saturday 3pm and then the almost miracle upset game at 9am the next day against the #1 club in the country. It does matter brah to us who care about fairness. I will tell my kidd top 44 now make plahoffs so maybe a chance. GDA had awesome website and the whole thing early on hooked this proud papa bear hwak dad. However, something behind the curtain was what was tbeir downfall. I voted yes all thw way for GDA before the truth came out with a few of the Docs who lied 24/7. Anyway, I will tell my goat to tell coach only one game a weekend and thats it. Two games under 24 hours is dumb & dangerous. No collegge teams play back to back.

When did Surf become the #1 Club in the Country? I think Slammers, Solar, Blues, Cincinnati United, Tophat and MVLA all may have something to say about that.

Regardless, hope you got the W

Agree with this......Surf are great but not #1 with Slammers Koge and Solar definitely stronger.......I also don't think playing on a Sat and Sun is necessarily dangerous as they are still teenagers.....two games on the same day I don't like......tournaments like West Coast have 3 in one day which is terrible...

MOO!!! They were crowned #1 two years ago GDA. 11 Nattys and 20 YNT call ups puts then #1 in my book. Slammers #1 ECNL this year but missing top teams. Thats why we were hoping to catch Surf after a hard fought game against Slams. I was joking around you guys btw. Pleasw dont take my Satire serious. I already know what u18/19 is all about. Kicker, we lost 1-2. Lots of injuries from both teams and I hear a few were out on visits. Its all good and Im.sorry for my satire the last 3 years. Too many of us took me too serious. Love you man )

I bet if you compared financials- Surf is the #1 team in the country.

I hate the 2 games in 1 day if they are 80 or 90 minute games. 16, 17, 18 year olds are pretty much adults (physically- especially for females.). If you play your hardest on Saturday- No way you are recovered to play that hard again on Sunday.
Go run a 10k on Saturday morning at race pace. Then try it again 17 hours later. Your pace will be considerably slower.
Or do a hard workout with weights on Saturday. Then do the same workout on Sunday. You wont be able to lift nearly as much.

haha your passion is great bro..... I am not bashing Surf their teams are monsters who will likely go 6-0 against more clubs than just Strikers..... but it is worth remembering that 2 years ago is a long time they found the transition back to the ECNL hard....for their standards.......and did not win a single age group...... Slammers Koge won several and Blues a few.....but I do back Surf to be top dogs at 06/u-16 this season

And you still standing by 18 year olds playing at 3pm, 100+turf heat=super gnarly hot game? Then drive home and then wakie up. That 18 year old up for big game against one of the top girls yputh soccer clubs with also one of the best technical directors in the world bro. So yes, our team was at a disadvatage if your trying to be fair. Tell you all what, wtf cares anyways. My dd is after pro anyways.......lol. Why is it smart or.not.dangerous to go back to back under 18 hours?

To add to that, with the sub rules in place, Coaches should be managing minutes/workloads on weekends with multiple games.

There should never be 2 games in a day at the “Olders” age groups.

I agree but my kid is running XC and they run 8k Mon-Fri on hilly terrain. Weight train on Saturdays.
Sounds excessive to me but folks are telling me that it’s okay.

The only thing that would be of concern is weight training…especially if she’s under 16yrs old…but that also depends on what you’re classifying as weight training.
