G2010...How is the 2021 season going?

Blues vs. Surf this week. Most of us have these as the top 2 teams in the age group so it should be a fun one. Any video that can be posted will be much appreciated. Here's how I see this going.

Blues- Have been at the top since the beginning four years ago. Usually the most talented team when they take the field, but when they have gone up against opponents equally as talented they usually found a way. Rarely could a team match their toughness (physical and mental), athleticism, and physicality.
Surf- Most impressive team this year and it's not close. Won Surf Cup and Albion Cup, combined 16-0 score line in two league games so far. It seems that there are no chemistry issues with the girls coming together from different teams.

Prediction- We know what the Surf are. This all comes down to the Blues. In a tough matchup can they raise their game like they've done in years past? My guess is "no". For whatever reason this is a different team: Surf 3-0 Blues.

Thoughts?

I guess Cali Teams are use to playing in Arizona, but playing in Lancaster can be somewhat of an upgrade

i think it’s really a wash at this point. As an individual I wanted us to enter, this I made my pitch to our team when it was asked since it’s our last year as President’s cup and it’ll be national cup next year.

Parents weren’t interested due to a variety of factors: location, lack of new teams (we’ve played most these teams either in scrimmage, league, Arizona or Coachella), the cost of the tournament, tired of paying for travel (looking for a break), there’s already other tournaments available in May after spring league which were already signed up for.

To the kids, I think they’re just happy to play and don’t care if it’s labeled as state cup, league, scrimmage or XYZ tournament.

I think you might be right, State Cup would probably be just for the parents at this point and the tournament’s prior prestige. It’s probably an even bigger deal to teams who are going ECNL early. But who can argue with being in a tournament with Eagles, Legends (I think), SD Surf Select Academy and Blues?!? I would pay to see them play because I hear and believe those teams are that good...

What do you mean by "going ECNL early"?

I didn't even know that was a thing.

You’ll be surprised...
Not if no one explains. I'm on my second glass and kind of slow right now. Cheers.

I'm familiar with kids playing up, so that individual kids enter ECNL early. (Horan, OM, etc.)

I haven't heard of any club having an extra team so that the entire slate of 2009 kids can do ECNL a year early. Seems that would be easy to find by searching the ECNL standings.

Total speculation here but I can see a situation where Arsenal can't compete with Legends on a recruiting standpoint. So they offer the 2010 Legends players spots on their 2009 Arsenal ECNL roster to keep them at Arsenal.

Got plenty of clips. But unfortunately there are too many sensitive viewers on this forum that will call me out for posting so I won’t post any videos. Was a great game. Could have gone either way. Blues opened up the score board in the first half and Surf tied in the second half. I was obviously being sarcastic when I said 5-0 Surf over Blues, joking around in response to your 3-0 prediction cause I knew it was going be a battle.
Bad tie for Blues and good tie for Surf. This Rogers team will miss out on the record of giving up zero goals in a SCDSL season. Not easy to do but that's how good our State Cup Champ team was bro. I hear nothing but great things about this team and I'm sure you guys will be there at the end.
