Teams in Ventura/Oxnard area recommendations

BRONZE
Does any one have any input about the Ventura/Oxnard area teams?

Looking into Eagles or VC Fusion, specifically. Eagles is stronger (Gold) but Fusion has Academy. Also, looking at the rosters, Fusion appears to have only 10 players (B07).

Thanks.

VC Fusion has US Soccer Development Academy Status. I Hear VCF also has a pretty solid 2007 team and play a good style of soccer. I suppose the difference would be Eagles is Club soccer and VCF is Academy.

But I don't think he can join the da team right off the bat. Fusion has a gold team in the csl. I guess that would be a good thing since, if he shows what it takes, he could be bump up?
I'm sure that's what they'll tell you, but it really doesn't work that way. If you kid is good enough, he'll make the DA regardless of what club he's on. If he isn't, he won't. So the most important thing is to find the environment where he'll progress the most. That usually depends on finding a coach who is interested in making him better rather than winning games. (Very hard to find, I know.)

And Eagles applied for ECNL. Should be announced if accepted in the next 2-4 weeks. Not sure if that is relevant to you but additional information.

Thanks! It is relevant.
So, the addition of that one new director, is that a good thing? do you guys know what kind of direction it would go with him?

He comes from a larger club and has shown a strong leadership style and wants to create a singular culture at the club. Those are good things. And it seems his hire is also designed to bolster the ECNL application.

ECNL on the boys side I think is just a gimmick. Basically a marketing gimmick and you could say that it is just a reserve league for the DA clubs and for the clubs who cannot get DA Status. They play there B teams.

Reading the eagles article about the new director and it looks like he has moved around from club to club a lot.

Huge amount of travel to basically play gold and flt 1 teams, but far away.

I think you will see the level of Boys ECNL especially with the DA making changes in the future. I think some clubs will even move the ECNL direction.

+1. The Boys Eagles side is in good hands with him as Director. Also, I think he is one of the best coaches around.
