Stanford Strikers FC (merger of Stanford SC & Alpine Strikers FC)

Looks like these two NorCal clubs merged for this upcoming season.

Independently, our clubs - Alpine Strikers FC and Stanford Soccer Club - have distinguished histories, developing thousands of young soccer players and serving our local communities. Together, our combined resources will allow us to offer dynamic best-in-class programs for the most competitive players to those who are just beginning their sport journey.

Both clubs had basically the same philosophy and compete at the same levels so merging may help in retention as kids move to 11 v 11. Very competitive market in the mid-peninsula and both clubs had declining numbers over the years. 4 clubs in the town of Palo Alto alone.

I remember seeing Alpine Strikers long back when my players were younger, but hadn't really in the last couple of years. Youngest is now playing in NPL 1 and so is this combo club. Was wondering what league/level they (both) have been playing in recently.

Both clubs were overall low to mid-pack compared to other NorCal Premier clubs, with a couple standout teams (IIRC Stanford's top 2011B team has been top 10 in CA at one point over the last year, currently shows 21st. 2008B team is pretty strong as well. Alpine had a ton more girls teams, Stanford had almost none - so it does seem complementary to come together. Merged club currently shows 84th out of 137 CA rated clubs that have 5+ boys and 5+ girls teams from U11-U17. It will take another few weeks for some of the teams to show up in the newly named club, but most of the top teams are already listed there so the ratings aren't likely to change much from here.
