For the vertically challenged keepers

I didn't want to further hijack the "Splitting Time" thread so...
Here's another role model for the vertically challenged keeper: Anna Picarelli

At 5'9", my kid's not going to have to overcome height as an obstacle, but she was a late bloomer who was the second shortest kid on her team at u12, so I studied a lot of shorter keepers. Her keeper coach played semi-pro ball and he's about 5'6" and shorter than most of his students. It's not easy, and lots of people will tell you "no," but it can be done. The bottom line is that if you lack something that coaches look for, you just have to make up for it by being truly special in some other attribute.
