Man City Cup/Nevada Heat FC G00 should come with a warning label

whatever

Public Service Announcement: If your DD's team ever has to play Nevada's Heat FC just save yourself some trouble and ask for a field marshall before the game even starts. It's no wonder their players are so dirty considering the behavior of their coach AND parents.

maybe a spill over from their first game thumping?

I don't think so. Was told by some parents that have played them in past tournaments that this is their M.O.

I have refereed numerous Heat FC teams over the past several years and never had any major problems. I have found that an early caution (yellow card) for dissent stops a lot of the complaints and yelling from the players, coaches and spectators. An early caution for reckless play or calling a tight game early tends to stop the overly physical careless or reckless play.

What happened at Man City?

They had their coach ejected in their Saturday afternoon game (he came out on the field, screaming at the refs after one of his players got injured on a foul). There were 8 minutes left in the game and the ref called the game there and then b/c the coach was freaking out so much. Sunday, in the consolation game (showcase....whatever...), the parents picked up where the coach left off. The parental highlights included one classy mom yelling for her daughter to "take out #2" from the Surf team, same mom flipping the bird to the mom of said Surf #2 player who objected to the Heat mom's sideline "coaching", and after the game ended, comments such as "fuck off, bitch" being directed at either the Surf parents or players. It was sort of confusing as to whom said phrases were for - maybe both? Oh let's see what else? Oh, yeah, Heat center D giving a nice elbow/fist to a Surf player's face (got a yellow - not sure why it wasn't a red)...those are your ESPN highlights. There was more but those were "the best".

This team is out of Utah not Nevada. Coach is Eric McDonald. Unacceptable behavior for sure.
