G2010...how’s the season going 2019?

On a sidenote, some SDSC teams including the 2010 Navy team are playing SCDSL this year. I'm assuming they will be in the same geographic division as SC Blues.

Some really good and great teams in these two as well, but pound for pound I think you have to give the nod to that SCDSL South bracket, especially now that SDSC is in it. Two elite teams at the top, and 3-6 are some really good teams, giving this league more competitive depth than the others.
 
Blues won, Score is reversed. Blues coach worked on possession and playing back through the backfield and goalie most of the game.

Blues/Albion could go either way as well. It's just hard believing that Blues would lose two times in a row to Albion. This is, of course, based on the Blues having their full roster at their disposal. If not, then this game is a coin flip.

Yep, hard to disagree with the above predictions. There will certainly be some close matches that could go either way. Also, don't discount the Texas teams. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Dallas win group A and a Solar vs Blues shocker, or at least a very close match. Either way this looks like another fun weekend for the girls. Have fun and travel safe!
 
Blues barely beat galaxy 3-2. And blues lost to Albion. Legends beat galaxy OC. And lost to Albion. It’s hard to say blues are atop anymore and eagles either. Legends was missing their goalkeeper who is the best in the 2010 and 09 age pool. They also were missing one of their top forwards. This year in the scdsl will be fun to watch as SDSC is now joining and we will get to see legends, blues, galaxy OC, and SDSC and slammers PA all play each other. It will definitely give more of an inclination on who is close and who is developing better and who is strictly recruiting. I believe galaxy OC is a lot of new girls. OC surf and blues also have a lot of new faces. I believe only SDSC and legends kept the same group from the previous year with maybe the addition of one girl. Either way should be exciting to see. Good luck to all teams in surf Cup this weekend.

I still think there's still clear a first tier of Blues, SDSC and Eagles, and a tier 2 that includes some really strong teams like Albion and Legends at the top with some teams like Slammers PA, Surf OC, Rebels, Slammers Cruz, perhaps Galaxy OC, and probably a few teams I haven't seen yet or that are new to flight 1. I will say that I think the gap is closing between the tier 1 and the tier 2, as evidenced by Albion beating the Blues in that finals, but that's inevitably going to happen as the years progress and we get closer to the DA.

I understand what you’re saying as the gap is closing but I’m going to have to correct you on your statement of “Albion beat blues because we are getting closer to DA”. DA and ECNL will not take place for another 3 years so these teams aren’t losing players to DA or ECNL teams. They are playing on pre academy and pre ecnl but those teams are still in the same leagues and playing all the same tournaments for the next 3 years.

We will see this weekend as I'm sure the Blues will have all players at their disposal. The gap is no doubt closing but until I see them get beat with any consistency or regularity I won't put much stock in them not being atop anymore. A one time loss to Albion isn't a trend.

I don't know if Albion is part of DA, but I guess what I'm saying is the local DA teams (even starting with the youngest ones) are more evenly matched on the pitch compared with what we see now at U10 club level. You're not seeing many blowout scorelines of 5-0 and 6-1 at the DA level.

Congrats to the teams who moved on and will be playing this morning for a shot at the final. Most of the brackets seemed to be quite competitive between the top contenders, with one being decided by the 3rd tiebreak criteria. Eagles v SDSC was another classic with the game going nil-nil until the final seconds of the match where Eagles managed to score and take the win. Had it finished as a draw SDSC would be moved on via goal differential, so shout out to the Eagles girls for playing hard and for things going their way this time. Well deserved! Also congrats to Surf for playing well against tough Albion and Heat teams and getting through.

I don't know anything about MVLA, but it seems a Blues v Eagles final is the probable outcome. Good luck today!
