Slammers g09 AA

To the parent on this team who made this comment after our 8 y/o girls game on Sunday, "At least we have more than one girl who can play."

Can you please be more specific? Was it our girl who had double digit shots on goal? Was it our other forward who had less shots but scored more? Was it any of the girls on defense who snuffed out everything as soon as it crossed midfield, won most balls and made sure that most of the game was played in your half?

My point is don't be crybabies if you lose, our daughters are 8. You didnt hear us crying like bitches when you beat us down earlier in the year. Teach your kids to lose with humility and sportsmanship, not make excuses.

So what was the final score? I'm pretty sure they are referring to #15 which is basically the team lol.

I suspect his DD is not #15. In the end, who cares what the other parent say. Your team won. I wish parents would just stay quiet regardless if they win or lose. However, I am all for bitching about the refs and calling them out. :)

I think the issue is really that parents can say mean things to little kids on other teams. To say that they only have 1 good player out loud is not cool for the rest of the kids on that team to listen.

The biggest issue that I see and hate about club sports is that parents act like youth sports is the most important event in their lives. I've seen dad's berrate kids on other teams And act like thugs just because they are losing or they think it was a foul or something silly. Nobody likes losing but it's just youth sports with no impact to personal lives.

Obviously sometimes winning with humility is harder than losing with it. That would include taking the W and moving on. Not making sure everyone knows how and why you won. So some knuckle head makes a comment that one girl carried your team, who cares. winning with class and humility means you don't need to make the argument against that. Let the score be the score and leave it out the field.
