G03 or G02 team?

We are looking for a girls Flight 1 or Gold team in the Lakewood, Long Beach, North Orange County area. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

Previous club/team/level? Might help others steer you in the right direction. The other reason I ask is because too many people get caught up in playing F1/Gold when the reality is sometimes the team, the player, or both don't belong there. Or they sacrifice playing time on a team where they are on the bottom of the roster instead of being a middle of the pack player getting more playing time just to say they play F1/Gold. Or they play up a year (sometimes more) thinking they should be because they are that great. Rarely the case if you look deep enough. Find a team where your kid is having fun, likes his/her teammates, and is getting developed. My .02

Understood. Would prefer a gold level team for the challenge and her ability and previous experience at that level. Of course there are always exceptions and we're flexible. Thanks.

The team does play at a challenging level and has defeated high level teams. For example they defeated the Temecula Hawks who won the national cup. I honestly think it's hard to know if the level is above or below what you're looking for without trying it out. Our team has beaten a few DPL teams as well so they name of the team doesn't always indicate how good the team is overall. Our team has also defeated premier level teams that play in Coast Soccer League. My point is that it's probably best to connect with the coach and maybe attend one training next week. Can't hurt to check it out. I can't speak for our coach because he would have to see your DD play as well as she see if she likes the coach and the team. A good example I can give you of only going by a team on paper without seeing them is that a girl left our team to go to a team her family thought was a higher level playing in the premier (higher than Gold) league in CSL. We played the team twice recently and beat them 4-1 and 4-0. I'm happy to send an intro e-mail between you and the coach if you like. If not, good luck with everything.
