DMS11 will be inviting new players and complete teams to join their organization in 2010. We have excellent Coaches ready to start committing to your players and teams. We are a small organization that specializes in focusing on long term development but enjoying success along the way.

We are looking for players for our U13 and U11 boys teams (going U14 and U12 in 2010). Both teams achieved promotion possibilities this year. We will also be adding a U9 boys team for the 2010 season. We have scholarships available for players needing assistance and with the discipline and motivation to help us build towards their success.

DMS11 is a boutique organization that is unique in structure to any other club in Southern California. Having been Director of a number of clubs, and working at some of the biggest, we decided to change the structure and grow in a new direction. The progression has been steady and learning as we constantly try to give the best product for the hard earned money we are paid for being a teacher to each and every player.

The biggest complaint I heard at all clubs I worked with was the lack of consistent development training, or focus from one Coach to the team. If a Coach has more than one team then they tend to gravitate to their most successful team and the other teams under their leadership tend to suffer and become step children. This cannot happen in a developing situation. We also have a personal touch with each player to help guide them, and be demanding of them to reach their goals, and do not rely on 10% of successful teams in a club bringing a name or helping keep people on board even though their own player is not being given the same attention. Our structure is smaller, more specific to the player, but is no less of a success for each player we teach.

To accomplish this, as do other sports where individual development is needed, we dedicate ONE COACH to each team. No coach is allowed to train and coach more than their own team. This guarantees the full focus and talent of the Coach to their team. The success of the team is in the hands of the Coach to get the results in terms of development and the following success. Our percentage record of success per team is excellent, as we do not grow faster than we can support our philosophy. We will always stay a smaller organization, not wanting to be the biggest, but working to be the best for each youth player that joins us.

All our Coaches are very highly qualified to teach the game to their players, both technically and technically. Each Coach is required to maintain a level of fitness that allows them to athletically demonstrate the skills or tactical information they are teaching, as well as join in the game training as part of teaching. The Coaches must be role players visually as well as verbally. The Coach has to be ready to work the hardest out of everyone on his team, to set the example and set the standard for what we are asking the players to do.

We work very closely with Fulham FC of the English Premier League, as well as West Ham United. In the past few years we have sent a number of our players to train and play with these clubs. IT has been an excellent experience and we are constantly in contact with them to make sure we are growing our education in the way the Pros are going. It is not what they are doing, but why they are doing what they are doing that will help us stay ahead of the game, as these Premiere Teams are in a League forging the future of football. When we visit each Coach has a specific role, geared only to the Development of the players to support the success they demand. Each Coach / Trainer is an example of knowledge and health. This is achieved by continuing the education and passing on the information to their players. We follow the same principles in conjunction with these trainers.

Each Team, with their own Coach, will have planned sessions designed to continue the development from practice to practice or from the games themselves. Nothing is left to chance or the players to teach themselves. At the professional level players are still taught, as we know that this means players need to learn how to listen and learn both technically and tactically to prepare them for the next level.

A youth coach has one purpose in the development of the player. This is to prepare them to play for any other coach, to understand systems and positions and give them the technical, tactical and physical development to be able to perform under the toughest of situations. Not every player will get to this level, but every player that wants it has a right to get the training and information to take them to the higher levels.

Some clubs rely on recruiting as their main development. Of course everyone recruits to improve the potential, but if recruiting is your main avenue to success where does teaching compare in percentage of team success? We place teaching first to make sure each player has the best chance of staying with the team before looking outside.

We have very good relationships with many other clubs as we work towards the common goal of soccer players and their dreams, and have mutual respect with the coaches we work with at those clubs. I see specific clubs definitely set up in the right way for progression, but many are still in the old mold. Not everyone can structure their setup as we do, purely because of the size of the club and the financial requirements. This is where we have changed the structure to fit the player, and not the player fitting the structure.

We are very competitive in yearly expenses, around the same or less than most clubs.

We have players who have gone through the DMS11 system currently playing on National Teams, European Professional Teams, MLS, Olympic Development Program and Division 1 colleges. The last team we graduated had a college offer to EVERY player.

Please take the time to look at our website and see if you would like the attention we talk about given to you child or team. We cannot accommodate everyone as we will not grow beyond our structure and promise. However, we do promise not to waste a second of your time and will give you the attention that warrants the goals you have.

We build our name through the development of every player who has the drive and standards to meet the level they are trying to achieve. We are not right for everyone, and not everyone is right for us. It is not a one fits all program. However, we do not let fear stop us from trying to find the best ways to the next level, and I hope if you are unhappy or looking for a potentially better place that you will not fear looking into our program. Our success in terms of percentage reaches far beyond most big clubs, and we will always commit to trying to be the best of the best.

If you are looking for a truly boutique type club, then Dan Metcalfe has assembled a foundation for success. I have watched him guide his first DMS11 team to many great achievements, most notable was getting all his players scholarship offers. This team has since aged out, and although they learned from Dan, Dan also took away many lessons learned from this great team.
This great team actually lives on in DMS11 through the training model Dan has developed at DMS11. Dan now truly believes he has a system in place to develop the complete player, and is expanding this model to a few select players.
If you are interested in a small but organized club, that has
a clear direction, and open communication, this might be the club for you.

DMS11 has a Winter Training Academy open to all players from U11 to U14 in preparation for the upcoming State Cup. Dan will be leading the session, and will have current Division One College Players from the DMS11 system co-coaching. Mike Manella, Captain of DMS11 Champions, now at Brown University will also be in attendance.The 3 day Academy training will focus on speed skill work, foundation work to make sure each player is functioning at game speed with the basics (passing, receiving, movement) and game specific agility and fitness work in preparation to return to your club teams at full speed. These sessions will make a difference.
