The Surf team is looking fantastic and appear to have a great chance of
making it to the finals. Good combination of skill, speed, and making the intelligent decisions under pressure.

The Surf does look good, but honestly, because they have an easier path to the final, it's karma on this one and I believe it will back fire on them once they meet a tough match. I believe we will see a Slammers/SoCal final. Teams that have to fight hard to the finish will always come out on top and that is because they deserve to be there!

They looked very strong. Good mix of attacking soccer with a strong defense plus an elite keeper makes them tough to beat. The problem at this level is all it takes is one bad game. But you can say that about all the teams.

Only 4 Gold teams left. Slammers almost got bounced. The wind & cold evened out the playing field to a large degree.

Slammers didn't get bounced, out, if that's what you meant. ? Slammers, Surf, Infinity and Sharks all have teams in the final 8 of both U12 and U13. Congrats to all the teams!

Mel - re-read it. What part of "almost" don't you understand. I was watching the Sharks game and looking over my shoulder to watch the Slammers game. There were plenty of worried parents over there and it took a shoot-out to seal the deal over a SE team. Both Blues teams did in fact get bounced.

What's even more shocking is No Irvine over Surf. Tough day for San Diego county teams. 0-3.

Slammers seem to have the easiest route to the Finals. How is it possible that they can reach the Finals without having to play a Gold team? Who the heck made these brackets?

Why is it so shocking? NISC is a good team. Could it be Surf is just "SD" hype? What is in that LoolAide that they are serving?

Go Irvine~

Maybe a "good" team, but still shocking for them to beat the Surf and reach the semi-finals. Let's get real here. They finished in the bottom half of their Silver Elite bracket and didn't make it out of the first round of League Cup. What's in the KoolAide that you're drinking?

When you really look at the brackets, Surf had the easiest path to the finals and look what happened to Surf. Slammers had to fight harder to get there so I think they deserve to be there! SoCal probably had the toughest fight so I personally was sad to see them out. I think they are a good team and would have deserved to be in the final four. Congratulation to the last four standing! After all that wind this weekend, they deserve to be there!

Gee, aren't you nice?? This is Nationals, not Open Cup. The tournament is seeded. There are no paths that are easy, period. Every team in National Cup is good and deserves to be there. Especially the top 16. All the kids should be proud. Surf and So Cal U. are both outstanding teams, both could have been in the finals but they're not. Who cares? These are young kids that work hard and try to win but if they don't they don't. Your weak compliment at the end is pathetic.

Your points make Surf look even worse in getting beat by NISC! Thank you for the help.

Can you say, OVER-RATED, OVER-HYPED or S-C-O-R-E-B-O-A-R-D!

Can you say GROWN UP, MATURE, ADULT? Would you say the same about your dds' team when they lost one game? This particular Surf team advanced futher this year than last year. In fact both Surf and NISC lost in the round of 16 last year so congrats to both teams for getting to the round of 8. I would assume they feel good about improving. I'll look it up but I think Surf lost last year to Arsenal in the round of 16. This is nothing to be ashamed of then or now. And who won last year? I have to look that up as well. See, I can't even remember, I just know how hard the kids work and the sacrifices they make at such a young age. Try and grow up a little and realize that life is happening all around you as you sit and stew over how to articulate your sorry thoughts on a forum.

At a minimum, we can put to rest the notion that top Presidio teams should be automatically placed in gold brackets once the decide to play in Coast.

That is pretty much like the Pot calling the kettle black. Throughout the thread it was stated Surf is going to the finals only to get beat by a low level SE team that did not get out of the first round of LC.

Was it the weather? Was it the referees? Simple fact; they were beat by a better team on this given day! Period end of your story!

Crawl back under that rock you came out from under.

I am sorry if I offended you... I was referring to the post that said Slammers had the easiest way to the finals, which I did not agree with. I think Surf is a really good team and I love the way they play the game. I would also like to add that I am REGISTERED as, “It's Me!” with an explanation point and someone responded as an unregistered guest as “It's me” without the explanation point. I believe the person who posted under the unregistered name “It's me” was probably trying to stir things up because he did not like something I've said. Is there any way to stop this from happening?

Well?

My money is on Arsenal White to win it all. Infinity has a tough team, but after watching Arsenal play a couple matches they appear to be the team to beat in my humble opinion. Not to take anything away from any of the final 4 teams they are are very good and have different strengths.

Yeah Arsenal is obviously the team to beat! Everyone underestimated them from the beginning and look at whats happened! They have beat everyone in their path not by a little but by alot! My money is full on Arsenal! You go girls! Oh yeah look at what they did to United! They beat them horribly! Hs United ever lost by that much ! I didn't think that that was humanly possible!

Huh?

Meanwhile, the Slammers are stuggling to reach the Finals....and they'll do it without ever having to play a Gold team?

I guess it's who you know.

I think United is a great team. ONE game doesn't define a year of good soccer. One win shouldn't make a team great. (at this age anything can happen and will) I'd look at consistant play over the year. I think Arsenal will have the best shot at the Championship also. But, it is said without taking anything away from the other teams still in the play-offs and those that got taken out last Sunday. In the final four? That's a great accomplishment in itself.
