Neither of them earned it, one has more leadership skill than the other, but when the other has no leadership skill it is not saying much. The team didn't get a say, and there is no end in sight for captains changing. I definitely think that it should have been someone that the team looks up to and that the team respects, in this case neither happened. What honor is in that? If there is no responsibility put on these kids when they have the title "captain" and wear the armband, what kind of example do the other kids have to follow? If their are clicks or somebody is new, it doesn't always work. It seemed pretty fair on our team. The captains are to warm the players up and get the girls motivated before, during, and after the game. The captains should really be players that can talk well and instill leadership while keeping things positive. We have been on teams where the coach picked the same ones year after year and parental contribution was a factor. ts soccerfan4ever 10-05-2007, 11:11 PM Team Captains How many team captains does your team have? Etc... __________________ On my dd's team there are 2 (one is the manager's daughter and the other one was chosen by the team... the chosen was is the only one that deserves it). On our team, their duties are just to lead warmups and wear a captain's band on their arms. | |
