Do you think that he will do well this year? There is talk of him even winning the heisman, but I don't know. Interesting thing is he came from West lake Village. What do you guys think?

I don't think so.boomer zap 09-04-2007, 07:21 AM Isnt he like 21 already ? If Weis plays him too much he will get killed with that awful O-line they have there . I watched some of the game and he did look better than the other two guys . Lion Eyes 09-05-2007, 09:47 AM Clausen is a freshman from Oaks Christian High School, he's nineteen years old and it appears as if he will start this weekend for the fighting Irish..... What do you guys think? Notre Dames offensive line is not good enough this year. It will be a hard year for him. Heisman, maybe as a Senior if he gets some good skill players around him. zap 09-05-2007, 11:43 AM It may be a mistake to play him this early against a very good Penn St. defense . Weis knows he needs to make something happen so he doesnt lose any of those early verbals . The Truth 09-06-2007, 06:03 AM If Jimmy Clausen was playing anywhere other than Notre Dame, you would not be hearing talk about a potential Heisman this early. Not because he's not a good quarterback, but because the media and the Notre Dame boosters are very effective at marketing the Notre Dame team and players. Last year was a perfect example of that. Brady Quinn was hyped as the second coming; teams in the NFL, however saw through that and Quinn was lucky to get picked up by the Browns at draft spot no. 22. Anyway, time will tell with Clausen. He certainly has potential and was very effective at Oaks Christian. But then again, playing the likes of Penn State, USC and Michigan (o.k., maybe not Michigan LOL!) is vastly different than playing Grace Brethren, St. Bernard, Santa Paula and Lompoc. zap 09-06-2007, 07:23 AM Wow ! Your name fits ! I agree . SoCalStats 09-13-2007, 03:04 PM Notre Dame has never started a season 0-3. Charlie Weis is going to lead them to a place that not even Tyrone Willingham could go. As bad as Michigan looks, Notre Dame looks worse. SoCalStats 09-22-2007, 07:55 AM Will Notre Dame score a touchdown on offense against Michigan St. today? I say yes, but they will still be on the loosing end. aguilar2323 09-22-2007, 12:07 PM Go USC #1 SoCalStats 09-22-2007, 08:47 PM You gotta love it!!! Doesn't matter who the Irish start at QB....they'd still be winless....tell me, why would someone root for a kid to fail? Doesn't matter who the Irish start at QB....they'd still be winless....tell me, why would someone root for a kid to fail? I think you're right about the offensive line and I think you're right that it is not Clausen's fault. I don't think you're right in believing most folks want Clausen to fail. Its more a Notre Dame thing than it is a Clausen thing IMO. SoCalStats 10-01-2007, 03:27 PM I think you're right about the offensive line and I think you're right that it is not Clausen's fault.
